Equestrian and Heritage Interiors

We’re loving the chocolate luxe trend for autumn 2026, so we created our own take on the look using the new H&M Home collection. Think rich chocolate tones, cosy textures, warm lighting and those timeless equestrian heritage details that make a home feel collected rather than styled. A little bit country house, a little bit Yellowstone inspired, and proof that you don’t need a huge budget to create a space that feels beautiful and welcoming.

The Chocolate Luxe Edit: The Equestrian Heritage Interior Trend Taking Over Autumn 2026

We’ve definitely fallen into our autumn interiors obsession again 🤎🍂

Every year there seems to be a new trend that takes over our feeds, but this one really caught our eye. The chocolate brown, heritage and equestrian inspired look feels warm, cosy and timeless, and honestly it just feels like home.

We wanted to see how we could create that country house feeling using the new H&M Home 2026 collection, without making it feel like you’ve stepped into a showroom.

Because that’s the thing we love about interiors. It’s not about having the biggest budget or buying everything brand new. It’s about finding pieces you love and putting them together in a way that makes your home feel like yours

The starting point for this look was the colour palette.

Rich chocolate browns, warm creams, soft neutrals and natural textures instantly create that cosy autumn feeling. They make you want to curl up with a blanket, light a candle and spend the evening at home.

The new H&M Home pieces worked perfectly for this because they have those simple details that can completely change the feeling of a room.

A textured cushion here.

A beautiful vase there.

A warm lamp in the corner.

Small changes that make a big difference.

## Our take on the equestrian trend

We’ve seen the equestrian and heritage look everywhere recently, and we wanted to put our own spin on it.

For us, it’s not about filling a room with obvious horse themed accessories. It’s more about capturing the feeling.

Think countryside walks, old leather boots by the door, wooden furniture, books, warm lighting and a home that feels like it has evolved over time.

A little bit country house.

A little bit Yellowstone inspired.

A little bit autumn escape.

One thing we’ve learned through all of our DIY projects is that the feeling of a room doesn’t always come from expensive furniture.

Sometimes it’s the layers.

The textures.

The colours.

The little details that make a space feel considered.

A new cushion, throw, artwork or accessory can completely change a room without needing to rip everything out and start again.

That’s why we love creating these inspiration boards. They help us see what could work before committing, and hopefully give you ideas for your own home too.

Because we’re not interior designers. We’re just a husband and wife trying things, making mistakes, learning as we go and sharing what works.

And that’s what Winging It Works is all about.

Trying something new, head over to our Room Studio and try the look out in your space and create something you love.

Building your home one project at a time. 🤎
